I am
nothing I can
conceive
nothing I can
imagine
nothing I can
remember
nothing I can
know
nothing I can
feel
nothing I can
perceive
yet my Presence
makes every
perception
and every movement of
thought and feeling

I am
the Beloved I sought;
there was no
attainment to be had, no
condition to be met, no
return to be made
nothing, nothing
could be more sweetly simple
than this sacred intimacy

sigh, yes. when we stop our striving, our searching….. we find ourselves in this place, the First place.
beautiful.
Monica – thanks for your wise comment.
“… the First place” is a beautiful term – First and Last and Only – the place we know simply as “I”.

i am that. thank you for the finger pointing back at the inner moon.
Yes, @my9demons – that and this and there, the inner and the outer, the finger and the moon …
Bowing to you ~ ml
Beautiful! Thank you!
Gratitude for your kind comment Amrita.
BTW I love your “Always at Home” post …
_/|\_
It just came out when I was sitting with my netbook outside of Whole Foods today.
To Amrita: I too am interested in awareness, and thinking in a state of conscious awareness being different from the maunderings of the Monkey mind- so I commented on your blog, and Akismet spammed it. Irritating. I am “always at home” because I spend most of my time in my living room- and love the thought of always being at home, wherever you are.
And who, in this poem, is “I”?
Pure awareness discovering “itself”
Dear Clare:
… if I claim to know, I lie
… if I say “I don’t know”
I’m pulling your leg!

Reblogged this on The Mariner's Journal and commented:
Deeply beautiful
Thank you John – I’m smiling with joy that you find resonance with these words ~ ml
Truly deep. They touch the heart of ‘the matter’. Or should I say ‘the spirit’ ?:)
Nice piece of work!
Thank you – high praise from such a wordwsmith! Your blog simply brilliant.
Wow ! Great to discover this wonder-full pointer
Welcome – and thanks for your comment – are you still living in Tasmania?
I am enough ~
